Getting There

The nearest airport is Toronto Pearson (YYZ), which is located ~1.5h from Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL). We recommend driving / renting a car to get to NOTL from Toronto, as it will be easier to get around and see more of the area without relying on Ubers or cabs.

However, there are public transit options available as well! The GO train runs from Toronto to Niagara year-round, and then they have a shuttle available into NOTL in the fall. You can find more details about it on the link below.

The Riverbend Inn

The property of Riverbend Inn & Vineyard dates back to 1809 when a modest stone farmhouse was built. From the grand chandelier in the lobby and the archival photographs dotting the corridors through to the furnishings and vaulted ceilings in our 21 rooms and suites, a stay at Riverbend is as charming as a visit to the wineries down the road.

Things to Do

Visit Niagara Falls

It might be hard to drag yourself away from Niagara-on-the-Lake, but you can’t visit Niagara without seeing the Falls. They’re just 15 miles south of the town. Canada’s Horseshoe Falls are the biggest, stretching 790 metres wide by 57 metres high, with an immense six million cubic feet of water flowing over every minute. The path runs right along the edge of the Falls from Table Rock so you can hear the roar and feel the spray on your face.

Enjoy a winery tasting tour

Visiting wineries is one of the most popular activities in NOTL. Many offer tasting flights, with snacks and optional vineyard tours. Some of our favorites are: Two Sisters Vineyards, Kurtz Orchards, and Caroline Cellars

If you have time to spare there are wine tours via shuttle or ebike, a quick google search will pull up various options!

Take a walk downtown

The historic Queen Street District is easy to get around on foot. Many of its Victorian-era buildings are now home to independent boutiques, antique shops, galleries and restaurants. An afternoon of window-shopping and photographing the views is one of the most popular things to do in Niagara on the Lake. Top photo spots include the Memorial Clock Tower, Old Court House and Prince of Wales Hotel.
